This family session will always stay with me from this post-lockdown Covid era. Baby Zazie's newborn session was booked for May, which ended up falling right in the middle of the tightest lockdown here in the UK. It couldn't happen in person, so we held a virtual shoot via FaceTime with great results. When we finally met in person for our 'real life' session, one of my first since lockdown, there was a strange sense of having been in each other's company before.

This wheat field near sunset on a warm July evening couldn't have been more perfect and I was thrilled to be able to get to shoot a newborn session not just outdoors, but at golden hour! For adventurous families who don't mind keeping the kids up a bit past bedtime, this is a really magical time to have a session. The sleepy blues pacified with a few snacks and having bonded over the PJ Masks theme tune, I was able to capture some dreamy shots in amongst the wheat.
